Brief Description:  Began riveting right front fuselage skin

Yeah, I know it shouldn't have taken 4.0 hours to rivet one of the front side skins on the fuselage. In my defense, I was being very cautious about rivet sizes and riveting only the holes called out in this section of the shop manual. And, Connie and I had to get comfortable once again with riveting after the winter break.

In any event, all the rivets were driven cleanly and the skin looks good. We still have the number 4 rivets that mate the skin to the landing gear weldment. These are going to be more difficult since they have to be bucked by reaching inside the gear boxes. Also, I have found that rivets passing through steel weldments are usually more difficult to set. There must be a trick that I haven't yet learned. If there is anyone reading this log that can offer some advice, please feel free to send me an email.

The last task for this evening will be trying to interpret one of the shop instructions. It says NOT to rivet the bottom four holes that the side skin has in common with the F-804H-1 center section side plate. Two of the bottom most four holes already have blind rivets in them per earlier instructions. In addition, the holes on the inside of the wing spar box can't be riveted at this point anyway unless the spar spacers are removed. So, that's my current dilemma.
