Brief Description: Pulled parts for the mid-fuselage structure
The parts for the mid-fuselage structure were identified and pulled. This section of the fuselage will require some bending of skins to match the contour of the lower fuselage. The instructions for accomplishing the required bends are included in the shop manual. This task will require the fabrication of some simple bending tools from wood. Looks like the table saw will come in handy once again.
I am not looking forward to bending the skin. It requires a smooth conical bend of varying radius. Oh well, other bending operations on the RV-8 have turned out ok so maybe this task won't be too bad.
