Brief Description:  Initial assembly and match drilling of firewall

Today I finally got started on the firewall build. The morning began with pulling all the parts. Actually, pulling the parts took awhile even with all the components neatly stored. Once the parts were located, they were clecoed together and match drilled per the shop manual. The firewall was then disassembled and all edges and holes were deburred.

The next step was to scotchbrite and prime all the mating surfaces where aluminum, steel and stainless components touch. I did not prime any of the alclad components unless they came in direct contact with another type of metal. I plan to continue this practice going forward.

I had to drag out the table saw to cut a couple 2x6s to make a simple brake for bending the firewall. The bottom board has 90 degree edges but I put a 16 degree slope on the upper board so it wouldn't interfere with the bend. Both boards were ripped so they have a nice crisp edge where the fiewall is bent.

Once the priming and bending was complete, I reassembled and test fitted all the parts for the second time clecoing everything in place.
