Brief Description: Second bunk bed

Well, today was another full day in the shop building a second bunk bed for my girls. Building the second bed went faster since I could copy all the dimensions from the original. This evening I filled the few nail heads with filler but haven't decided yet whether to fill the recessed screw heads. I did fill one screw head to see if the filler will adhere and look good once sanded.I still have quite a few hours left for sanding, priming, and painting. I also may add some decorative knobs to the top of the bed posts before painting. I plan to make these from small wooden cabinet/drawer pulls if I can find some at Lowes of the appropriate size. Oh, I wil also install some plastic glides on the bottom of each bed post.
Meanwhile, Connie is taking the dimensions and will be making some foam mattresses, sheets, and pillows for each of the beds. I think she plans to take the girls to the fabric shop after their birthday and let them pick out some material for the bed spreads, quilts, or whatever. This is turning into quite a production. Anyway, sturdy wooden furniture from Pap's shop is better than plastic stuff from the factory!
