Brief Description: Aileron Skins and Stiffeners, Scuffing and Priming
This is the two year anniversary of the project. Two years ago today I received the Empenage in the mail from Vans Aircraft.
In this work session I match driled all of the skin stiffeners to the respective aileron skins, then deburred the skins and stiffeners. Following that I scuffed the skins with a scotchbrite pad, cleaned them with acetone and primed them with a Marhyde primer.
I then did the same with all 32 skin stiffeners. It was a load of work, but I'm glad I got it all done in one day.
