To allow more space between the fuel tank baffle and the fuel tank stringers and prevent the possibility of trapping water in the fuel tank; the RVator recommends trimming the fuel tank stringers. Trimming the fuel tank stringers allows at least 1/8" of space between the two parts and allows water to work its way to the lowest point in the tank and be drained. To accomplish this, I trimmed all of the fuel tank stringers down to the the minimum edge distance allowable to create the necessary space.
