Brief Description: Elevator Trim Tab Construction, Day 1
It took me three tries to successfully complete construction of the trim tab. This is the third attempt, which very nearly led to a fourth attempt. It was a close run affair.
I began by marking the bend lines and trimming back the blue film.
Next I used the hand seamers to begin slight bends on the marked lines. I thought this would make creating the final bends easier.
Then I used parts of the 1x6 wood from the wing crate to make the wood form to bend the flaps down to shape. Since the wood was so thin, I used a handsaw to cut two closely modeled parts, then glued them together using Gorilla wood glue to make one piece. the next day, when the glue dried, I used various sanding equipment to smooth out the cuts.
