I worked on the flap drive tube and the phenolic end blocks. Getting the phenolic blocks to fit the mounting holes in the fuselage was a pain; in retrospect I should have drilled the blocks with the mounts together on the drill press before installing the mounts. Silly me, I followed the plans!
I ended up having to make four sets of blocks, because the first two I made didn't quite match the holes in the mounts, so I could not get the bolts through. The second set fit much better.
I spent a lot of time chamfering the phenolic on the left side so that the handle attach weld would clear it and allow the rod to rotate smoothly. I also had to slightly chamfer the backside to allow the larger end of the rod stop to clear the block as well. I still need to check the other side blocks, but a quick test showed them fitting well.
