Prepped the rudder top fairing for installation. I sanded cut some excess off the edges with a dremel and cutoff wheel then sanded and squared the recessed area per the manual, pg 12-02. There was no recessed area on the leading edge so I had to file, sand and scrape that edge a little more. There was talk on VAF forum about the lack of holes in this fairing. Section 7 of the manual indicates 8 holes with the aft most hole receiving a dimple before the rudder is assembled because the space is too tight to dimple once assembled. Ch 12 shows 9 holes. I could drill the extra hole but wouldn't be able to dimple it. I left it with 8 and added some permatex to the aft recessed areas.
