Brief Description:  Bending the leading edge

This was the cumbersome part. Once the left skin was rolled to form the lap joint, we started on the top section. This section of the leading edge bent fairly easy. We used a broom handle which was about 3/4" diameter. The next sections were tougher and here's why. You tape the at the forward edge so when you rotate the handle the center radius of the bend is away from the area where he skin leaves the flange of the spar, yet as we found out there needs to be some radius of the bend occuring near this skin and flange area to match the templates. Bending out on the end tends to make it bend like a fish hook. We had to work the material by hand to get it come close to the templates. This is what took a lot of time. And once it's bent inwards you end up pulling up on the outer edges to get them to lay flat against one another as you bring them together to cleco then rivet. Regardless, the end product came out okay, but I'm sure there is a better way. Maybe using a combination of large diameter pipe followed by a small diameter pipe.
