Brief Description: Installed crotch strap brackets and seat ribs.
Today, I first riveted the crotch strap brackets to the seat ribs. I then clecoed all seat ribs in place and bolted them to the F-704 bulkhead. I torqued all nuts and applied orange torque seal.
It was at this point that I realized I had a misalignment issue with the bolt holes in two of the ribs. When I originally match drilled these two seat ribs I had them switched around from their proper location. The rivet holes line up perfectly, but the bolt holes are about half a hole off. My fix was to use a large diameter washer to increase the surface area against the flange. I will send pictures of the problem and my proposed fix to Van's to see what they think. This is a structural area and I want to make sure it will be fine.
Today my little girl turned twenty. Her dad is getting old.
