Brief Description:  Attended Oshkosh Airventure

The boys and I headed to Oshkosh for our annual pilgrimage. We camped at Camp Scholler with my long time friend Jim and his son Jack. The boys had a great time and made a lot of good memories. We all took a helicopter ride in a Bell 47 and got a great view of the Airventure grounds.
Seeing all of the warbirds both old and new was a big hit especially the WWII fighters and bombers as well as the F-22 Raptor. We spent over half the day on Saturday at Kidventure. This is an area with tons of projects and activities for kids of all ages to learn about aviation. The kids built gliders and carved wood propellers and also flew control line model airplanes. The new location at Pioneer field was great.

We had a great four days and really enjoyed ourselves. The one downer was the crash of two P-51's on landing and the death of one of the pilots. Fortunately, we didn't see the accident and spared the boys from having that memory. My thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family.
