Today I began working on the rudder. My first task was to cut the stiffeners out from the long stock aluminum that the kit includes. There are reference marks on the strips that I use my snips to cut the stiffeners. Then I used the file and my 3M wheel to smooth the edges. The process started slow but I quickly got a rhythm going and progressed quickly. Then I clecoed the stiffeners into place and match drilled them to the skin. After that, I removed them and deburred all the holes. Finally, I used my pneumatic squeezer to dimple the stiffeners. Overall a very productive day in the shop!
