Brief Description: Riveting the Horizontal Stabilizer
Found several of the HS-801PP to HS-702 Front Spar, and HS-708 Main Rib rivets that were not squeezed enough. Went over the entire assembly to correct these errors. Started to rivet the HS-803, Rear Spar to the HS Assembly.
While all of the rivets are accessible for a rivet squeezer, I am finding it easier to drive the rivets with a gun with the mushroom set and the Ultimate (Tungston) Bucking Bar. If done properly, the rivets seat with good results.
Rivets should fit into their holes easily and sit flat before bucking. If they don’t fit well, run an awl thru the hole to eliminate whatever is causing the interference.
