The images below show the use of ratchet straps to establish the initial curve in the leading edge skin. Image # 3 shows the use of cork spacers under the straps to establish the 3/4 inch offset between the edges of the skin. Once this offset was established using the straps and corks, the skin edges were taped in that position, the straps were removed, and the whole thing was wrapped in plastic for the vacuum forming.
