Brief Description:  riveting on spars

I got tired of riveting on the center section, so I switched to riveting on the wing spar instead. In those areas of the wing where my hand squeezer is able to reach around the spar cap, the riveting is going very well. This includes the outboard section of the wing, where the spar cap is one inch tall, and about two-thirds of the way up the tapered section. From there to the root, the spar cap is too tall for the squeezer to reach around. In those areas I have attempted both driving the rivets with a rivet gun, and squeezing them with the arbor press. I'm not really satisfied with the results in either case...my percentage of perfect rivets is very low, my number of obvious rejects is too big, and my number of questionables is huge. And even though I have only finished riveting one spar cap, I am already beginning to see the curve in the spar that has been discussed extensively on the web forum.
