Brief Description: reinforce air inlets and crankshaft opening in mol
I used a combination of aluminum strips, all-thread rod, a masonite board, some random scraps and a Costco canned chicken can to enhance the mold for my cowl top. Tomorrow I am going to add some fiberglass to cover all that metal, so the final mold will be 100% fiberglass in all areas that contact the actual cowl layup. If I add three plies of cloth, this will function as a practice run for the actual layup of the cowl itself, and it should allow me to remove the all-thread rods and miscellaneous bracing to reduce interference during the actual layup. At quitting time today, I left one ply of glass cloth cut out and left the mold positioned for laying in the reinforcement.
