Brief Description: rivet practice & bucking bar manufacturing
I searched several web sites for an extra-large, "longeron-style" squeezer yoke but was unable to find one. So I'm back to planning on driving the spar rivets with a rivet gun. I also ordered some more rivets, in order to experiment with different lengths. One of the problems I'm having is that by the time the rivet heads (shop heads) are wide enough, they are too thin, so I want to try some slightly longer rivets. I also ordered 100 each of the CCP-42 stainless steel pop rivets, and the AVEX rivets which are a possible alternative. I want to try out some of each before deciding which to use on my plane. I also packed up my spars to take them for another inspection. I will do that tomorrow.
