I bought one of those flush-cutting laminate trim router bits and used it to make this cut. It was not really much faster than the jigsaw, but the cut was quite a bit straighter, and a little bit smoother. The cut will still need to be finished with a file and/or sandpaper. I will probably make another cut or two with this method before trying something new or going back to the jigsaw. The hand-held router is somewhat jumpy, and in a couple of instances it jumped far enough to take a divot out of a clamp, so this bit is now sort of dull. I may get another bit or two to get a good reading on how this method works.
