Day 015 'Cables .. The Start....'

More Photos and Further Notes can be seen at Build Log Day 15.

Undertook some more work this morning, I was interupted every 15 minutes or so with work and other home duties until about midday, so this kept me rather busy, I managed to remake the bracket for the tie down, thanks again to Scott for pointing this out, I noticed it in his phones, but it never really sunk in.

Todays work was main going to be working on the bracing section, but I got some unexpected/expected help from my dad, he was over with mum to chat to my wife, so after he lost interest in that, he came in and gave me a hand, and loved every second of it. When we assembled the brace, we managed to get it the wrong way around (for the cross member), so after fixing that up, and re-assembling, its all come together (The photo 1/2 way down, is wrong, its still included, and labelled wrong, so you know what its not supposed to look like).

As with everything with this build, there are subtle differences in the way that everything goes together, after turning a few tubes, we managed to get it all fitting, and only one bolt needed help from the mallet to get it to go into the hole (it was out by 1mm)

First Problem, after we had finished patting outselves on the back from getting that in place, it dawned on us that perhaps if we had managed to get the A's and B's in place BEFORE we put the bracing up, it coule be assembled in one go, lesson for everyone else.

The newly assembled C Cables where the next to put in, there are some extra tangs in the box that carry's the 540kgs bracing cables, they may be needed, I need to consult with the other builders to find out if they should be put onto the C Cables, as the turnbuckle is about 3/4's extended, I think it will be fine, but the flexing and the moment that it could generate, perhaps may be a problem, better to be sage then sorry!
