Brief Description:  AS&S Order 5

26-6-12 -- Two Expensive yet important pieces of equipment where placed on order today. With my search for instruments continuing I found that I couldnt find a 3 1/8" Slip Ball anywhere, Scott managed to build one, I dont have the talent for that sadly, so I thought I would get the next best thing, Greg, the australian Distrubuter of the aircraft, used a turn co-ordinator in his, a little more heavy yes, but its a gyro instrument, so If I do something silly at least I've got a better chance in the event of failure, Plus it comes with a lovely 3 1/8" housing. What more can you ask, mount it square, give it power, and away we go!

The other one was the landing light choice, I toiled over this one for quite a while, the options offered up from Aeroleds where sadly ugly in my opinion, or not powerful enough. Yes this is a day VFR machine, but I like to be seen, simply put. I hope to get some plastic made up for a cover to protect the led, Thats the Next thing on the list of things to do! The Aeroled gives me what I am looking for, standard mounting seems to be in the wing, but not wanting to muck with this to much, my thoughts are to mount it on the lower cowl, or under the pilots landing gear leg pointing forward with the bracket that was purchased at the same time, This also has a wing wag function, and I'll be putting a switch on the dash for this another on-off-on switch!
