Today I completed initial fabrication of the rudder skins. Bob Kurrle said this was a more difficult piece comapred to the earlier work. He may be right, but time will tell. So far, so good. , The stiffener holes were matched drilled to the skins and the skins and stiffeners were dimpled. Those thin skins are delicate for sure. The most time consuming task was melting the plastic where the holes are. Necessary but boring.
Also began to build the understructure. Amazing engineering on the part of Van, everything goes together as it should. Rotobroached the 3/8 hole in the rudder bracket. Nice job by the tool!
