Received the Pilot's stick grip labels I had custom ordered from stickersonthecheap.com. I started with a file that I received from a fellow RV-8 builder and modified it in Adobe Illustrator to match my button functions and then saved it as a JPEG file. Searching online, most custom sticker shops had minimum orders of 50 or more. Stickersonthecheap.com only required a minimum of 10 so I placed an order with them. I just had to upload the file and give some general information about the size. The stickers look really good. The text isn't as crisp as I'd like but it’s acceptable and I think some quality is lost from saving as a JPEG.
Since I have 10 stickers I stuck one on the side of the fuselage temporarily to try it out. It sticks well. I haven't finalized the location for the label. Functionally it would be best to put in on the panel just in front of the stick but I don’t think I want to look at it all the time since I'll know the button functions and the label is for FAA requirements. I'm leaning towards putting it on the lower switch panel between the Ebus switches and USB power outlet. It will fit well there and be out of the way, but still be visible enough to read if needed. I have enough spares that if I don’t like one location, I can peel it off and try another spot.
