There's always been a gap between the aft edge of the canopy skirt and the fuselage that varies in size as the canopy length changes with ambient temperature. I've been planning to fill the gap with epoxy/micro but I was waiting for summer temperatures so the gap would be at its smallest. Temperatures in my hangar this weekend were in the 90s so it was a good time to finally take care of that task. I removed the canopy and scuffed up the bottom of the aft edge. I then covered the corresponding area of the fuselage of with clear packing tape. I mixed up some micro and applied it to the fuselage and then reinstalled the canopy and pushed it down against the fuselage to mold the micro and fill the gap.
After the micro cured, I removed the canopy again, sanded the micro to shape and sprayed it with primer. Next, I applied 3/4 inch strips of adhesive backed felt to the entire inside lower edges of the canopy skirt. This is another task I've been planning to do but wanted to wait until I filled the gap at the aft edge.
