Installed #6 nut plate in the baggage door forward rib and firewall upper support angle for mounting the baggage door support prop. This is an idea I copied from two other RV-8 builders. The support is part number 11615A14 from McMaster Carr and it contains a spring so that it will hold the door open when it's open and closed when it's closed.
Opened up the hole in the firewall (from the release cut between flanges) closest to the baggage door hinge pin to allow the pin to pass through the firewall.
Cleaned the primer from the faying surfaces of the baggage door ribs and skin, applied a layer of flox/epoxy to the upper flanges of the baggage door ribs and clecoed them to the skin with a few clecos.
Placed the baggage door skin on the fuselage and strapped in down tight with ratchet straps.
Installed the remainder of the clecos in the holes common to the skin and the baggage door ribs. The intent is to form flox skims between the ribs and the skin when the skin is formed to the correct shape.
