Brief Description: Vertical stabillizer alignment part one
Clecoed the vertical stabilizer in place and did some trial alignment. The plans call for first removing 9/16" from the bottom of the front spar but I read on numerous blogs that 9/16" will result in short edge distance at for the rivets at the bottom of the spar so I left it un-trimmed for the initial alignment. As it turns out it looks like I'll need to trim more like 3/8". Tonight I simply cut to small half circles into the end of the front spar to clear the two clecos that hold the front VS attach plate.
I used my laser level and a tape measure to do some initial alignment and layout of the lines showing where I'll need to drill the attachment holes in the VS aft spar.
