Brief Description:  Completted riveting LH aileron

Finished riveting the LH aileron. For the final riveting the plans say to flip the aileron over and place it on a flat surface and weight it down to make sure it stays flat while riveting. I used an old luan door that I used to use for building RC models as my flat surfrace and some old bags of shot (also from RC modling) for weight. Most of the remaining rivets were blind rivets so I bought a cheap pnuematic pop riveter from harbor freight which made short work of the rivets and sure saved my forearms. I installed the solid rivets common to the LE end ribs and LE skin, then the blind rivets common to the LE and the counter balance, then the solid rivets common to the aft skin and the end ribs and finally the blind rivets common to the LE, aft skin and spar.

After removing the shot bags I measured the twist of the aileron from end to end. It appears to be between .4 and .8 degrees. Probably not bad.
