Brief Description: Empenage fairing and wing tip work
Sanded the micro applied during the previous work session on the forward top skin forward of the canopy skirt.
Reinstalled the HS and VS on the fuselage and trial fit the empennage fairing. Drilled the fairing to match the mounting holes (#40). Trimmed and sanded the edges. Applied epoxy/flox to spots on the fairing where there were gaps between the fairing and empennage skins. Clecoed the fairing back in place for cure.
Trimmed 1/8" off of the aft end of the LH HS tip which basically cut the plywood closeout off of the tip. This was necessary because there wasn't sufficient clearance between the VS tip and the elevator. I'll make a new close out, bond it in place and lay up fiberglass over it.
