My hangar has some 1 inch square steel extrusions welded to the door guides that stick up about six inches. I've lost track of the number of times I've tripped over them and the first time I pushed the airplane out of the hangar with the wheel pants installed I managed to pierce the back half of one of the pants with an extrusion. I took the pants off for the first flight but I want to get them back on soon so today I started repairing the damage.
I Sanded the outside of the pant in the damaged area and applied some neat epoxy to flow into the cracks. Once it cures I'll layup some reinforcement plies on the inside followed by some micro/epoxy on the outside to smooth out the surface.
