Double checked the sweep and angle of incidence of both wings with the aft spars clamped to the attachment bars. Everything looked good so I moved on to drilling the holes for the bolts that will fasten the aft spars to the attachment bars.
First, I used a centerpunch to mark the bolt center point keeping in mind the required 5/8-inch edge distance for all surfaces of the attachment bars and aft spars.
I started with a 12 inch long #40 drill and used a drill guide to ensure that the drill was square to the attachment bars. I followed that up with #30 and #12 drills and then installed an AN3 bolt in each of the holes. The holes will eventually be opened up to 5/16 but I’m waiting for a drill bit that I ordered which will produce a hole that can then be opened up to the final size with a 5/16 reamer.
