Temporarily installed the vertical stabilizer on the fuselage and pinned the rudder in place. Trimmed the top of the vertical stab side skins for clearance from the rudder. Drilled the mounting holes to #30 and countersank them. Cleaned the primer from the faying surfaces on the vertical stab and sanded the faying surfaces of the tip cap. Applied T-88 adhesive to the tipcap flanges and rivets them in place
Drilled a 7/16” hole in the front of the rudder bottom for a grommet for the tail light wire.
Drilled the mounting holes for the rudder bottom to #30 and countersunk them for flush rivets. Used some pieces of scrap left over from the canopy to make squares to fill the area of the rudder bottom that was cut out to clear the rudder horn. Riveted the fillers to the rudder.
