Also connected the static Pitot ports and ran a tube to the AHRS location. Test fitted the new instrument panel and made a couple small adjustments to the top curvature since the glare shield curve is not exactely smooth because of the original panel tabs.
Temperature today was HOT with a heat index above 100 so I packed up and went back home early. At home I worked further on the new panel in my cool shop. I finished cutting out the entire panel, Also drilled the horizontal 1" angle brace to the panel. Made the angle braces I'll use to anchor the angle to the fuselage stringers and sides. Also drilled the rivet holes along the panel top which I will match drill to the original panel.
The black objects in the picture below are drill guides I printed on my 3D printer. They are printed in PLA plastic and only good for a couple uses before the holes get hogged out but they do make drilling the aluminum easier and guarentee proper hole locations.
