Brief Description:  Continue work on turtle deck.

Drilled #40 and updrilled to #30 skin to forward and first former set. Started drilling second former but decided to make some shims before continuing. I cut off the top stringer front bend that attaches to the front formers and splice plate. The front stringer bend was too far forward pushing the front formers forward beyond the skin edge by about 5/32". After cutting off the bend I made an attach bracket out of 3/4" angle which I will fit and drill in place to insure the front formers are flush with the skin edge.

Because I had to position the second and third set of formers forward of the top stringer attach brackets and use 1/8 spacers to further move the formers forward to get the former flanges to allign with the skin holes, the formers ended up too short at the top thus requiring shims between the former flange and the skin. Looks like the top and maybe second flange from top will require shims, same for both the second and third set of formers.

I stopped drilling the skin to the formers and made several sets of shims, .032, 0.50, .064 and .090. I'll use these tomorrow to finish drilling the skin to the formers. Will hopefully finish fitting the turtle deck and can remove and debur the holes. Not sure if I will rivet it on immediately.
