Brief Description: Make fuselage rudder cable guides & idler assembly
Made the 6 rudder cable guides and idler assembly. The brackets were already made (premade angle option) so I just had to up dril and reaml the components to proper size. Also drilled, reamed and pressed bushings into phenolic pulleys.
I may change the hardware callout for these rudder cable pulley assemblies. The plans callout elastic nuts on AN3 bolts however, I don't think I will be able to properly torque the nuts without pinching the bushing that is pressed into the pulleys. If the bushing is pinched, the pulley will not turn. If the bolt is not properly torqued, it will have a tendancy to turn inside the bearing therefore the bolt should be drilled and the nut castelated rather than an elastic lock nut. I'll wait and see if I can properly torque the elastic nut once the pulley support brackets are mounted. If I can't then I will use castelated nuts and notify Sonex.
