Brief Description:  Riveted skins on Left OB wing

Riveted skins on Left OB wing; no problems encountered.

Test fit the aileron with counterbalance and there is a clearance problem. I even modified the weight attachment hardware to use countersunk screws, thin washer and low profile lock nut. The countersunk side has good clearance but the nut side has problems.

Will order some aluminum tubing from ACS OD - 1/4" ID - .152". Will enlarge the holes in the lead weights so I can press fit sections of this tubing into the lead weight holes approximately the same width of the lead weights. Will then tap the aluminum tubing for AN3 threads, then I can countersink the AN3 holes in the aluminum brackets that hold the weights (both sides) and use non structural flush screws on both sides of the counterbalance, probably 1/2" or 5/8" long screws. Will also want to use Locktite on the screws since it is very important they not come loose and jamb the aileron. This will provide 1/4" clearance between the counterweight and each side of the skin cutout. This change will also lighten the weight of the counterbalance slightly, hopefully not enough to be a problem.
