Brief Description: Cleco'ed VS structure and drilled
Cleco'ed the VS structure together and then fit the skin to it. Everything appears to fit including the VS half of the rudder hinge. Removed the skin and drilled the VS structure components up to the correst size of 1/8". Also drilled several #10 holes for the AN3 bolts. Next I will disassemble the VS structure, debur and then rivet it together.
Was surprised the ONX-T08 plans have you predrill the VS half of the rudder hinge. That half of the hinge has to match up with the prepunched rear VS spar and skin so I would think a better approach would be to match drill that hinge half to the VS rear spar. Fortunately I drilled the hinge with an accurate jig made from an aluminum yardstick and my holes in the hinge lined up pretty good with the prepunched parts. I will email Sonex this information in case they want to change the drawing.
