Brief Description:  Worked on making the empenage hinges

Worked on the elevator and rudder hinges. They need to be cut to length and drilled. I used an aluminum yardstick with holes I had predrilled on one inch centers, 1/4 inch from the edge which helped make the task go faster and provided more consistant spacing.

I screwed up a couple hinge sides because I ASSumed if one side of the hinge had eyelets on both ends, the other side would not have eyelets on the ends.... WRONG! Sonex has you make both sides of these hinges with eyelets on both ends. This means the hinge halfs will have to be offset when joined together which I thought a bit strange. Looking deeper into the plans I see they then drill tiny holes in two of the end eyelets for small cotter pins. The pins capture the hinge pin when installed and prevent it from sliding out, pretty clever. I should have dug deeper into the drawings before I made both sides of the hinges.
