Brief Description:  Front end fit , trim, fiberglass

It's been a while since I last wrote in my blog but although I did not work a lot, It does add up which is why you see 16 hrs today although I only worked 6 hours.

What I've decided to do was to add guides for the two halves to meet and use screws instead of the piano hinge. Even if I read the instructions a hundred times I could not figure out how you can use a piano hinge behind the prop. Beside that, that area was so twisted that even rebuilding it is a real challenge.

Then on the side, I am using these oval plates to hide the piano hinge pin. But I am also using the plate behind as a side guide as well which is screwed also on the top cowl where the bottom part will be riveted on.

Then I test fit the spinner which is perfectly located for the distance between the cowl and the spinner.

I also tested the position of the alternator and I found that with my 3V X 375 belt, the rotating fan in the front runs awfully close to the cowling ... like 1/16 to 1/8" .... I think this is too close and will need to try a shorter belt.
