Brief Description:  Cowling ... on going !

I worked less than I wanted this past weekend due to the so high humidity level combined with summer heat ... I Had to interrupt my sessions to go sink my body in the pool to cool down a bit.

None the less, I managed to keep doing things ... much of the counter sink on the cowling is done. I also temporarily installed the vertical induction servo and attached the top plate to the base of the servo just to see where it goes ... I think I will need to bend the nose of the part that is heading toward the scoop ... Instructions are not saying anything about having to bend it although the sketches are showing that it has been bent. Before going further I will check that out. But you can see that the forward end is diverging away from the bottom cowling. The scoop is right next and is following the cowl bottom shape.

Also I riveted the oil door that I made with 2024-T3 , 0,040" thick ... Lighter than fiberglass, it is easier to work and you can make a perfect contour matching !

Among the some of my weekend work frustration, the hinge pin on thepilot side, top of firewall side , that was easily going in , suddenly is no longer easy to slide in place and has found a way to slip between 2 piano hinge loops (not sure if this is the correct word) . I put that aside to review later on how to correct that before getting out the fiberglass and riveting it final and cool down my frustration that found it's origin from being OK to not being OK as if some magic happens during the night !

As I said, the cowling is quite a challenging thing to install.
