Yesterday, I managed to drill out most hinges. I still have to drill the top firewall hinges & add the two small center cowl 4" hinge but the progress is evident.
There was a lot of heating some area and force it it's place and it works. But in the co-pilot side forward left opening, I over heated and a piece of the top finish bubled up and detached itself. Nothing dramatic but lesson learned !
The cowling position seems to be perfect. I also temporary place the scoop to get a view of the overall look. And that please me.
