Brief Description:  Working on cowling

Yesterday I started to straightening the cowling center (around the spinner) due to distortion that is quite evident on the upper half on the picture. I corrected the bottom side and still need to do the top side. The biggest problem is to find C clamp that fits which I did not hence the reason I have done the bottom separately from the top. Not completed yet, I have a few more steps to do first. Once I will have straighten them fairely close, I will clamp the two halves and will put the flat disc in reference, reheat agin and make a final adjustment so the forward spinner area of the cowling will match nicely.

I alsoI invested a little bit of time to complete the cowling jig that will help locating precisely the cowling forward face just behind the spinner.

I've used materials at hands. 2" ABS pipe, one union, UHMW, aluminium & plywood. I followed last month Kitplane article about it. Quite happy the end result.
