Brief Description:  Hanging the engine

This is a big mile stone ! installing the engine is an exciting time. Brought it back from the storage place, then unloading it on the ground. Then I reviewed many instructions and suggestions on how to do it but it was not as simple as I thought. After tempting for 3 hours, I called for help from a friend who is an AME. Together it took us about an hour to secure it on the engine mount.

While installing it I realised that the oil filter that was installed was too big and I had to remove it. The spin on was an acceptable model but was at least 2 1/2" too long and because of that, it butted up against the firewall recess. I checked and a much shorter one can be install. Also, I am thinking of using the challenger type spin on that is reusable. It is expensive but after the 10th oil change, it pays itself. Also it is very easy to inspect the oil because the 30 micron basket collects the sluge and a magnet the metal parts that might be floating in the oil.

Now I hope that my propeller will come in soon so I can keep going .
