Brief Description:  Working at closing the forward skin

Have you worked countless hours and looked back at no results ? This past weekend, despite all my efforts, I have little to show.

I cannot even say what I did that took me so long. But in a nutshell I have prepared the front end ready to accept the new skin. I reworked the flanges , redid the center rib, readjust the closing mechanism, file this and that .... One thing I spent time on was to figure how much space is required between the canopy forward skin and the top forward skin between the two hinges. The problem is because the canopy skin moves forward when you tilt it open and the two skin butt against each other. Here are the issues with determining this .... originally from the plans the call out spacing between those skins is not mentioned. I have set it at 1/16" ...the problem is until it is riveted down, I cannot see if the forward skin will be low enough to clear the canopy skin ... I think 3/32" is enough but wonder if bevelling down the aft top side of the forward skin edge would be enough to let the other tilt over with enough clearance. And this is not a place where you can easily check this by yourself !

I read that some used some easy to remove pop rivets but I am not sure if I should try that method. Anyway, I will reflect on this this week.
