Brief Description:  Last weekend !

Last weekend I worked many hours but was too lazy to write in my blog. After completeing the last few connections the weekend before, I riveted the piano hinge for the cowling. Then I tried to reinstall the canopy only to realise that beside the 2 issues I found, some push pull cables control were also interfering with the canopy reinforcement structure. So I had to do some trimming of the canopy reinforcement structure which took an awful amount of time You can see in the first picture two push pull cables that are located close to the subpanel flange and those were in the way. I had no choice without relocating those cables to make some sort of loops or pass through in the structure to permit the cables to not interfering with the canopy closure. I don't think it will affect anything but that was a punch in the face as I had never anticipated that.

The next task , because I am replacing the F-671 top forward skin because I did not like the fit at the canopy forward line, I had to readjust the subpanel flanges. The problem was caused on each side of the fuselage where sharp turn of the skin is occuring; where the canopy frame and the subpanel flange kiss the canopy structure, the radious of the sub panel was not matching the radious of the canopy and that made the F671 skin , a little bit too low, way too low. The fix was to cut the subpanel flange, and reinstalled a new flange on both side. That completely fixed the problem but it required a lot of time and effort.

I also plan to add access panel so I can have access to the VPX and the wiring that is all going in that area . This is mainly for future maintenance or modification that could happen in the future.
