Brief Description:  AN fitting safety & Inside the cabin

Not much time on my hand to keep my project going. This weekend as an example, exceptionnally I must work on Sunday. Next weekend, it's the COPA (Canadian Owner & Pilot Association) convention that we are organizing for over 12 months. Needless to say that I will be working on that event from Wednesday June 22nd until Sunday June 26 !! Lot's of work and I plan to post a few pictures of the event ! We are attending between 300-500 people ! We want to greet the conventionists in a way that they will experienced renown Quebecers friendship & warm hosts ! It will be fun ... if the weather collaborate.

Today I tried my new tool, that permits to drill a hole on the side of the AN female fitting so you can secure it with stainless steel wire. You can see the beautiful 1/16" hole right in the meat of the fitting. I have decided to secure all the fuel line fittings since a friend with a Zenair CH650 has experienced a forced landing because one of his fuel line fitting worked itself loose and it happenned right on take off. Nothing happenned other than a big scare. Ffor me, this served as good lesson about safety. All his fittings were tighten using a tork wrench and despite that, one of them became loose. Hence my decision to buy that neat little tool.

The rest of the day, I installed nutplates and riveted the box that will be hiding the fuel pump. You can see that I split it on 2 sides to permit easy removal for filter inspection/change without having to cut any wires. You can also see that I am using a black round fitting where the trim cable will exit. But that thing also can slide out as I opened up the bottom of the hole. All I need to do is to turn that little black snap on plastic ring to released it from the slot made in the metal box.

Gee ... I dream of installing the engine but my social life keeps pushing it out !
