Brief Description:  Drilling & fitting canopy skin

Today I fitted the canopy reinforcement which really add rigidity to the forward canopy frame. I decided to trim the canopy skin flush with the top longeron. The thing I haven't finalized is the trimming of the shade. As it stands now, it overhang 4 1/4" .... But I have no clue what is best for getting enough shade on the instruments.

One other thing that really bother me is the clearance of 1/16" from the canopy skin and the top forward fuselage skin. I can see the bending holes of the sub panel flange . Knowing the instruments equipments will be attached on that sub panel, that is definitely not great. I think I will need to seal off each rivets with silicone, and I will add an aluminium tape on top of the subpanel flange. I have often seen sort of a water resistan tcloth between the panel and the subpanel, which I might add as well. My other concern is I really like to have small fans to help with the heat to escape behind the panel but also using them to help defoging the canopy. Right now with the reinforcement parts, there is no space left for two 3 1/8 X 3 1/8" fans. My last concern is there is interference between the rear end of the panel and the sides of the canopy frame. I will need to trim something off to remove any possibility of interference to open or close the canopy. That is more trimming to do.
