Brief Description:  Inventory

Finally, the two crates containing the Savannah S, kit#2, arrived at the Eskilstuna airport ESSU, both in good condition but two days late because of the snow storm. Everything was well packed and fairly easy to identify. However, there are so many of them (995, to be exact, not counting all clamps and fasteners) so in order to fascilitate the inventory all items were listed on an excel sheet showing the part number, number of pieces, reference to chapter in the manual and ,some times, the name of the part. This was a bit tedious, I admit, but the excel list can be sorted any way you like which makes the matching of all pieces much easier than by matching against all the different lists in the manual which has its own organisation. Nevertheless, there are still some pieces that I couldn't match to any part of the building manual but I suppose that this will fix itself along the road.

My idea is to store the kit at the airport and transport parts to my warm cozy garage where I will do all the assembly. The final assembly of wings to fuselage etc will be done in the hangar at summer time. At present it's -15 degrees Celsius and not the best conditions for kit building in a hangar.
