Brief Description:  Propeller installation and control

Propeller was installed according to the icp manual but no safety wires were used since all bolts need rechecking after one hour in action. The pitch angle of this propeller (DUC Helices inconel, 3-blade) was set to 24 degrees as recommended by the manufacturer. Yes, the propeller is adjustable but I would rather call it semi-adjustable as it isn't a quick job. All bolts need to be loose not only the two bolts that holds each of the blade - but also the main six bolts. There are also two angles that need to be correct before the pitch angle is set. First the aircraft need to be horisontal meaning in my case that I had to empty the front wheel of air. Then the blade to be set has to be placed horisontally. After that the blade can be rotated to the desired pitch angle. This has to be repeated several times as the setting of one blade may disturb the setting of the other. Rechecking is prudent. Finally the bolts can be tightened to 25Nm.
