Brief Description:  Baggage compartment

I got all the metal work for the baggage compartment done today. I wanted to box in the cargo area and keep it light. I fabricated aluminum covers for the rudder cables and elevator push rod to keep items away from the controls. The covers took a lot of trial and error to get fit well. I used Southco quarter turn fasters to attach them. This will allow them to be removed easily for inspection and maintenance. I plan on using a light and strong polyester or nylon to box in the area at the aft former and the bulkhead behind the seat. This should keep everything contained in the cargo area and keep weight down. I plan to use grommets to allow the fabric sections to be fastened to the airframe. Again, I need to allow easy removal for maintenance. I also want to box in the upper triangle section of formers from the one that makes the aft section of the cargo area to the next former aft using fabric. This will make a sort of hat rack. Of course this area will only be for extremely light weight items. The hat rack could be used to hold a very light sleeping bag or tent.
