Once both skins were bent, I clecoed them together, enlarged the holes to #30, and use my grandfathers pop rivet gun to finish the rolled edge. The important part to remember is to let the top skin overlap the bottom so that the seam between the two pices does not catch water. After installing six pop rivets, the second practice project is complete!
All in all I learned lots in the two projects and believe I am ready to start my empennage build. I faxed my order on Wednesday, and confirmed on Thursday with a call to Vans. The kit is in stock and they will put my paperwork in their system, assign me a customer number, and ship my kit and all the required paperwork this week.
I am excited to begin the real build, but first Sun 'N Fun to pick up some , ideals, tips, tricks and how-to's.
